Een nobel, maar ambitieus doel in een tijd waarin corona het scholen lastiger maakt om les te blijven geven, bovenop een toch al nijpend lerarentekort. CEO Wim Bubberman legt uit hoe zij dat voor elkaar proberen te krijgen.

DIT IS WIJS doet er alles aan om gedwongen verzuim in het onderwijs zoveel mogelijk te voorkomen. Dat gebeurt door onderwijsgerelateerd personeel te plaatsen waar nodig, maar ook door middel van opleiding, coaching en een ad hoc afdeling waar een mogelijk tekort van morgen kan worden voorkomen. Een noodzakelijke service aan het onderwijs, al lijkt dat er niet altijd klaar voor te zijn. “Het onderwijs is best een traditionele wereld.”, legt Wim Bubberman uit. “Dat kan echt anders! De optimale inrichting van de flexibele schil en daarmee strategische HR planning is bijvoorbeeld nog geen vanzelfsprekendheid op veel scholen. Natuurlijk is het goed dat kinderen vertrouwd raken aan één persoon die voor de klas staat. Maar de toekomstige professional wil misschien zelf niet meer vijf dagen per week werken.
Verkeerde beeldvorming
Naast een verouderde denkwijze speelt ook de beeldvorming over detachering een grote rol bij het omarmen van die flexibele schil rondom scholen. “We moeten af van het beeld dat detacheringsbureaus alleen maar commercieel denken en handelen. Er zijn heel veel professionals die het fantastisch vinden om projectmatig of een paar dagen per week op een school te gaan werken. Scholen die tijdelijk de juiste persoon zoeken om een zwangerschapsverlof op te vangen. Daar willen wij graag in ondersteunen. Wil je een jaar dezelfde school en klas? Ga dan in dienst bij een school.”
Candidate journey
Om elk jaar een nieuwe aanwas aan leraren te ontvangen investeert DIT IS WIJS enorm in de zogeheten candidate journey. Bubberman: “We doen alles om als een warm bad aan te voelen voor nieuwe kandidaten. Net als de school dat moet doen, overigens. Iedere dag zijn we bezig om onze service te verbeteren en ook voor komend schooljaar 60 a 70 nieuwe PABO’ers te contracteren. Bij ons krijgen ze aandacht en professionele trainingen en is het aan ons om ze op de juiste plek neer te zetten. Dat is ontzettend moeilijk en soms pakt het anders uit. Zolang ze maar in het onderwijs blijven, dan zijn wij tevreden.”
