Kinderen krijgen tablets, chrome- books en laptops mee naar huis. Kleuters krijgen les via Microsoft Teams en docenten zijn massaal online les gaan geven. Digitale lestijd wordt steeds meer de norm!

Maar niet alleen op school is sprake van digitalisering. Ook thuis zijn kinderen digitaal zeer actief. Van gamen op verschillende devices tot aan het maken van huiswerk of socializen op social media. Deze digitalisering zal alleen maar verder doorzetten. Dit is onontkoombaar. De kinderen van nu noemen we dan ook de digitale generatie. We zitten op een kantelpunt voor deze digi generatie. We willen ze een zo goed en leuk mogelijk leven bieden. Digitalisering kan daar aan bijdragen. Maar we gunnen ze ook een gezond leven.Keerzijde digitalisering
Helaas zit er ook een keerzijde aan de toegenomen digitalisering en schermtijd in het onderwijs en dat is dat veel digitale oplossingen leiden tot minder beweging. De stelregel is helaas op dit moment: schermtijd = zittijd. Dat betekent dat kinderen steeds minder bewegen. En minder beweging leidt tot een slechtere gezondheid, zowel fysiek als mentaal. En als er één ding is wat Covid-19 pijnlijk duidelijk heeft gemaakt, dan is het wel het belang van een goede gezondheid. Deze generatie zal het in de toekomst op fysiek maar ook mentaal vlak steeds zwaarder krijgen. Dat is al zichtbaar aan het aantal burn-outs op tiener leeftijd en aan de daling van motorische ontwikkeling bij jonge kinderen de laatste jaren.
Schermtijd wordt beweegtijd
